Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is an allocation of additional funding provided to schools for children in receipt of free school meals, those looked after by the local authority and children of armed service personnel. In 2012, funding was extended to include pupils who have been eligible for free school meals within the past 6 years.
Nationally, evidence shows that children who are in receipt of FSM may perform less well than their peers in school. The aim of Pupil Premium funding is to try to close this gap.
If your child is entitled to pupil premium, the school will offer financial assistance for trips, clubs, school uniform and much more.

How is Pupil Premium Funding used?
Every school outlines its Pupil Premium spending in a 'Pupil Premium Strategy'. This is a document which highlights:
- The impact of Pupil Premium spending on pupils in the previous academic year
- The plan for the following three academic years
